In the LGBTQ+ community coming out to ones biological family can be very difficult and can often lead to rejection. Sometimes these rejections mean that the person may have to learn to provide for themselves. Sometimes it means things just won't be the same as they were. When these kinds of rejections occur chosen families are often the solution. Chosen families are made up of any people that are not biologically related that help to support, care and love a person. This is part of what makes the LGBTQ+ community so powerful in a young person's life. Through this video you will find out more about what makes these types of families so important. Apply the ideas in this video to the Female Boarding Collective knowing that if you or anyone you know is looking for a family we are here to connect with you.
